After Drake made a surprise appearance during Morgan Wallen's pre-show walk-out at Houston's NRG Stadium this past weekend, we're wondering if this blockbuster link-up was a hint that the two chart-toppers might have more up their sleeves.

As Morgan Wallen began his now-iconic walk-out for night two of his I'm the Problem Tour, the Sneedville megastar was initially just accompanied by legendary Houston Astros pitcher, Roger Clemons. But then, someone caught Wallen's eye out of shot, with Drake emerging on screen, provoking a stadium-wide frenzy of screams.

It marks the second time Wallen and Drake have joined forces, following the ‘Love Somebody’ singer-songwriter's cameo in the latter's ‘You Broke My Heart’ video in late 2023.

When that unexpected crossover happened, fans immediately started speculating that the two genre-blurring titans might be readying a seismic collaboration. The grapevine then went quiet, with rumours around a joint track simmering down.

This Houston walk-out, however, has reignited the excitement around a collaboration between Wallen and The Boy. And we have a theory about what this track could be.

Back in 2023, we suspected that Morgan Wallen and Drake were cooking up a song titled, ‘I'm Kinda Glad She's Gone’, with the two artists singing this line during the ‘You Broke My Heart’ visuals. It's still possible this is an unreleased track, but we reckon this was simply the duo messing around as part of the video's storyline.

Now, we're putting forward a new theory that Drake might be a surprise guest on Morgan Wallen's ‘Interlude’. Despite being the shortest track on I'm the Problem, ‘Interlude’ was one of the most buzzed-about songs from the project when it dropped in May.

This was partly because of it's strange placement on the I'm the Problem tracklist, with ‘Interlude’ arriving at No. 6. Particularly given the fact that the album is 37-songs long, it seemed an odd decision to situate the ‘Interlude’ - which you'd usually expect to be somewhere around the halfway point - as early as track No. 6.

Could this positioning have been a clue all along? Morgan Wallen has always had a penchant for sprinkling cryptic hints and easter eggs that only his most ardent fans pick up.

Drake has long referred to himself as ‘The 6 God’, due to the rapper's home of Toronto being known as ‘The 6’, as a short-hand combination of the area-codes 416 and 647.

Drake has played on this nickname across his discography, most notably on his 2015 opus, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, on ‘6 God’, ‘6 Man’, ‘You & The 6’ and ‘Know Yourself’.

We're posing the question, therefore, of whether Morgan Wallen's decision to put ‘Interlude’ at No. 6 could be a veiled teaser that Drake is about to jump on the extended version of the track, due to the widely known association between Drake and the number ‘6’. Wallen seemingly hinted back in May that he was readying a longer rendition of the 44-second song, replying to a fan on X that commented, “I need a full 2 minute song of interlude please”, with the pointed response, “Noted”. Now that ‘Interlude’ has been added to Wallen's 2025 walk-out soundtrack with ’Broadway Girls’, it certainly feels like he has big plans for the track.

‘Interlude’ carries a brooding, trap and R&B-infused atmosphere that would lend itself perfectly to Drake's moody, hazy croons. The fact that it is the only song on I'm the Problem that was solely produced by Charlie Handsome feels pertinent, with Handsome working on Drake's More Life deep-cut, ‘Madiba Riddim’, as well as collaborating with a host of rappers such as Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug and Lil Wayne. It's also intriguing that Handsome's wife, Marissa Sardar, reshared a clip of Drake walking out with Wallen with the caption, “we need him on interlude !”

With Morgan Wallen having two dates lined up in The 6 at Toronto's Rogers Centre in early September, if Drake's was set to make only one appearance on the I'm the Problem Tour, you'd assume he'd have decided to do so during these home-city shows.

If Wallen and Drizzy are indeed plotting a remix of ‘Interlude’ - or perhaps another separate collaboration - then one of these forthcoming Toronto tour-stops in September would undoubtedly serve as the perfect moment to deliver the live debut.

Drake is still rebuilding his public status after his extremely high-profile rap beef with Kendrick Lamar last year, and Drake's subsequent defamation lawsuit against UMG. He has since dropped the hugely popular $ome $exy $ongs 4 U with PARTYNEXTDOOR, which reminded listeners that the ‘Take Care’ maverick remains one of modern music's premier hitmakers, as well as the low-key 100 Gigs project, but Drake has been relatively quiet on the new music front aside from this.

With Morgan Wallen currently sitting at the peak of the Billboard 200 with I'm the Problem and holding a dizzying array of Hot 100 entries, it's hard to think of many bigger artists for Drake to join forces with than Wallen as he launches his keenly awaited comeback.

Similarly, Drake is still one of the most respected artists of the past few decades and a highly coveted collaborator. Given Morgan Wallen's ability to flit between trap and country with ease, and Drake's longstanding flirtation with the genre, we think a country-trap fusion from these two would set the all-genre charts ablaze.

At present, this is all just speculation and conjecture, but we'll be keeping everything crossed that we get a joint track from these two trailblazers in the coming months.
