Everything you need to know about the stunning, gratitude-laced track from Combs’ 2025 ‘The Prequel’ EP.
It's safe to say we've been waiting on this one. First teased back in 2022, many fans had given up hope of Luke Combs ever dropping a studio version of ‘Days Like These’.
But then, in early October 2025, the ‘When It Rains It Pours’ hitmaker revealed he'd be including the longstanding fan-favourite on his three-song EP, The Prequel. The project also includes the rowdy ‘My Kinda Saturday Night’ and the powerful ‘15 Minutes’.
‘Days Like These’ feels cut from the same sonic cloth as Combs’ 2024 concept album, Fathers & Sons, with the North Carolina native expressing his gratitude across a pared-down instrumental. It allows the spotlight to fall on Combs’ enchanting vocals, with the ‘Hurricane’ crooner lacing every lyric with a sense of compelling sincerity.
The track finds Combs reflecting on a particularly wonderful day. What happened, you ask? A great haul after a day of hunting, perhaps? Or a successful day spent crafting hits? Endearingly, Combs isn't giving thanks for any specific experience that made his day especially memorable - rather, he's just feeling overcome by a feeling of gratitude because he is surrounded by the people he loves.
It's a wonderfully endearing sentiment that serves as a reminder for us to always focus on what we have, rather than assuming the grass is greener on the other side. Combs uses a plethora of money-themed imagery to describe how precious ‘Days Like These’ are, depicting them as being “worth more than gold” and sweetly admitting that even if money grew on trees, he'd “probably miss the leaves”.
“Days like these are worth more than gold
But they can't be bought, and they can't be sold
On days like these when the sun shines bright
I feel like it's all gonna be alright
When the sky is blue and the grass is green
How much better can it be?
If I got you and you got me
We got everything we need
And even if it grew on trees
Well, money can't buy days like these
They don't come around as much as they ought to
So soak 'em up when thеy do
Those days like thesе
They don't get forgot
If you think it though
They're all we got
When the sky is blue and the grass is green
How much better can it be?
If I got you and you've got me
We got everything we need
And even if it grew on trees
Well, money can't buy days like these
When the sky is blue and the grass is green
How much better can it be?
If I got you and you've got me
We got everything we need
Yeah, even if it grew on trees
Well I'd probably miss the leaves
No, money can't buy days like these
No, money can't buy days like these”
