Bailey Zimmerman is giving Ella Langley her flowers, with the ‘Rock and a Hard Place’ singer-songwriter showing love to Langley's viral hit, ‘Choosin’ Texas’, via social media.
The Louisiana native has shared a new video of him enthusiastically singing along to ‘Choosin’ Texas’, with Zimmerman playfully captioning the clip, “Ella got me in a chokehold”.
He goes on, “I listen to this song at least 10x a day @ellalangleymusic INSANE”, with fans responding in the comments by stressing how relatable Zimmerman's post is. ‘Choosin’ Texas’ has been in all our heads at Holler HQ since it dropped in October 2025.
It showcases the ‘you look like you love me’ hitmaker's penchant for songs with a sepia-tinged, classic country feel. Langley describes a romance that hangs in the balance, as her lover decides between staying with her and leaving for Texas. She vividly conjures up a scene of a protagonist drowning her sorrows in a Wild West dive bar.
The heartbroken anthem is expected to feature on Langley's eagerly anticipated new album, alongside the surprising HARDY collaboration, ‘Never Met Anyone Like You’.
Despite only arriving a few months ago, ‘Choosin’ Texas’, which was co-written with Miranda Lambert, continues to cement itself as one of the biggest hits of the year. It remains in Spotify's Viral 50 USA chart, and currently sits at 50 million streams.
It caps off what's been an immensely successful year for the Alabama prodigy, with Langley taking home three CMA Awards courtesy of ‘you look like you love me’ with Riley Green. At the time of writing, Green and Langley's second duet, ’Don't Mind If I Do’, is the latest song to be crowned No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay Chart.
‘Choosin’ Texas’ is on track to emulate the popularity of ‘you look like you love me’ and ’Don't Mind If I Do’, with many outlets - including Holler - selecting it in their End-of-Year lists.
Zimmerman is not alone, therefore, in his praise of Langley's vibrant, traditional-leaning earworm, but even so, we're hoping his shout-out might pave the way for a blockbuster collaboration. Although Zimmerman leans more towards the pop-country aesthetic, his atmospheric vibrato carries a level of gravitas and intensity that we think would combine seamlessly with Langley's charismatic drawl.
Langley clearly holds a more old-school style of the genre close to her heart, but the country titan is also not afraid to keep her listeners on their toes with contemporary, left-field link-ups with the likes of BigXthaPlug, HARDY and Morgan Wallen. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed we get to hear Zimmerman and Langley on a track together in 2026, potentially as part of the latter's new album...
