Charley Crockett has announced that he’s releasing his new album, Dollar A Day, on Aug. 8 via Island Records. It was produced by the '$10 Cowboy' himself alongside Shooter Jennings.
The new record was labelled as "Part Two of the Sagebrush Trilogy" on Crockett’s social media where he made the announcement earlier today.
The first part of the Sagebrush Trilogy was his most recent album, Lonesome Drifter, also co-produced by Crockett and Jennings. It received avid praise for maintaining the authenticity of an independent artist that was now backed by a major label.
Crockett’s music has always been synonymous with his troubadour lifestyle and has perfectly captured a modern country sound in a classic country style.
Dollar A Day marks Crockett’s 16th album; and it does leave us wondering–can he deliver another brilliant body of work?
Teasing a snippet of his upcoming single, ‘Crucified Son’, Crockett walks a bluesy country line as he sings, "Crucified son / I was born the lucky one / They can’t tell me what I’ve done / I’m a crucified son."
If the 15 seconds on social media are anything to go by, the Crockett-Jennings combo is once again making some pretty good country music.
'Crucified Son' will be out this Thursday (July 3).
