Charley Crockett has announced that he is officially cancelling his 2026 Canadian Tour, after the ‘$10 Cowboy’ singer-songwriter revealed via a lengthy social media post that he was prevented from crossing the border twice in the space of 24 hours.

The issue stems from an old felony charge on Crockett's record, with the alt-country crooner convicted in 2016 for possession with intent to distribute over 5 pounds of marijuana.

In his post, Crockett explains why he can't play the shows, “Everybody's got a past. Mine's still haunting me. I tried to cross the Canadian border twice in 24 hours. After they denied me entry in Vancouver, I tried again in Kelowna and was rejected a second time. I've been advised that it would jeopardize my freedom to try and enter again. I'm deeply sorry to announce the cancellation of my entire Canadian Tour”.

He goes on, “Full refunds will be issued at the point of purchase. I know this doesn't begin to make up for y'all's time and hard earned money. I apologize to everyone affected. I know I let y'all down. Canada's such a beautiful country full of some of the best fans in the world, and I've had the time of my life playing shows for y'all. I ain't one to quite and I am to be back on of these days real soon. Yours truly, Charley”.

There's no word just yet on when the original dates will be rearranged for, but given the nature of the situation, it's unlikely there will be a swift resolution for Crockett's Canadian fans.

As he makes clear in his statement, however, Crockett will be doing everything he can to ensure he is able to travel into Canada at some point in the near future. It's disappointing news for fans, but they'll be taking some comfort in the knowledge that the ‘I'm Just a Clown’ singer-songwriter has a brand new album, Age of the Ram - the third instalment of his Sagebrush Trilogy - arriving on April 3rd, 2026.
