Chris Stapleton Releases New Signature Filson Collection, Including A $699 Wool Cruiser

Chris Stapleton and Filson are back for the next chapter in their partnership with a new signature collection.

“The next chapter in our partnership with award-winning songwriter and musician Chris Stapleton,” Filson captioned their announcement. “A collaboration rooted in Chris’s appreciation for heritage and revival. Dependable fabrics, historic patterns, and graphics inspired by his collection of vintage stamps and patches.”

This is another name on the list of country and western leaning brands being fronted by the voices of those that wear them. Lainey Wilson, Tucker Wetmore and George Strait x Wrangler, Zach Top x Kimes Ranch, Koe Wetzel x Rock & Roll Denim, Shaboozey x Levi's and now Chris Stapleton x Filson.

Stapleton’s collaboration is another addition to the long overdue recognition of the voices that carry influence in this genre. Country music is the music of the wild west, and these brands - Levi’s, Kimes Ranch, Filson, Wrangler - are the heritage brands.

The pièce de résistance of this collaboration is the Chris Stapleton x Filson Signature Mackinaw Wool Cruiser. A price tag of $699 may initially seem steep but according to Filson, the 100% virgin Mackinaw Wool is insulating, weather resistant, blocking wind, shedding rain and snow and keeps you warm even when wet. It’s a Stapleton twist on a Filson classic. He hand-selected the 1950s vintage design, nicknaming it the ‘Peppermint Patty’, and, in fairness, he does rock it.

The rest of the signature drop ranges from $49 to $159 and offers a bandana, t-shirt, hoodie and flannel shirt. Fans can shop now on the Filson website.
