The Academy of Country Music Awards brings together the biggest names in the genre for one night of massive honors and even more impressive performances.

Thursday night's (May 8) itinerary included a thrilling collaboration between cowboy hitmaker Cody Johnson and '90s country elites Brooks & Dunn.

Following a cinematic solo showcase of Johnson's 'The Fall', they joined forces for a throwback performance of the iconic duo's classic 2003 hit 'Red Dirt Road'. The special musical event set the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas even more alight, with the collaboration taking viewers back to the early aughts and the days of country greatness.

In unison, they gave a staggering rendition of 'Red Dirt Road', one that soon turned into an arena-wide sing-a-long. Throughout the powerhouse performance, there wasn't a soul onstage or off who wasn't having the time of their life.

While this is one of the few times all three stars have showcased the song live, the rendition appeared on Brooks & Dunn's Reboot collection from 2019.

The respective hitmakers were not only tapped as performers, but Johnson and the duo are up for a handful of the night's honors.

Brooks & Dunn are once again in the running for Duo of the Year, with Johnson seeing nods for Male Artist of the Year, Song and Single of the Year both for 'Dirt Cheap', Music Event of the Year for his Carrie Underwood-assisted 'I’m Gonna Love You', Visual Media of the Year for 'Dirt Cheap' and 'I’m Gonna Love You', as well as the coveted Entertainer of the Year.
