Dolly Parton might be the Queen of Country, but that doesn't mean she's above joining in on the fun on TikTok. As the viral ‘What's Up?’ trend continues to spread across the social media platform, Parton has shared her version of the 4 Non Blondes anthem, which she released in 2023 alongside the song's writer, Linda Perry.

Parton and Perry linked up on the track as part of the former's star-studded Rockstar project, which also featured Miley Cyrus, Elton John, Sting, Chris Stapleton and more.

It's a welcome dose of levity from Parton, particularly after the world was left fearing for the ‘9 to 5’ legend's health last month when her sister, Freida, sparked concerns by asking fans to pray for her. Parton was forced to cancel her 2025 Las Vegas residency, with her manager later revealing this was due to kidney stones.

Although Parton didn't stick to the exact format of the ’What's Up?’ trend, we still appreciate it. Elsewhere, the likes of Madelyn Cline and Drew Starkey, Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian and even Jimmy Fallon and Malala Yousafzai have taken part. From the country world, Megan Moroney and Avery Anna hopped on the trend.

It pivots around an unexpected - but strangely infectious - mash-up of ‘What's Up?’ by 4 Non Blondes and Nicki Minaj's rap earworm, ‘Beez in the Trap’. The videos feature two people back-to-back, with the camera slowly panning around as the first person sings a portion ‘What's Up?’, before the other delivers Minaj's rap.

With Parton gearing up to release her latest book, Star Of The Show: My Life On Stage, on November 11th, this new ‘What's Up?’ clip has us hoping the Tennessee legend has found some time during the past year to work on some new solo music...
