We suspected Ella Langley would emerge during Morgan Wallen's Alabama show last night - but we didn't think they'd be joining forces for a new song, ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’. Langley was opening for Wallen at the blockbuster concert - and looking back, the easter eggs were there all along that this song was on the way.

Langley linked up with Wallen at his packed-out show at Tuscaloosa's Bryant-Denny Stadium - the first concert there in over 30 years - to debut their playful, uptempo collaboration. Excitingly, the duo confirmed we don't have to wait too long to hear the full studio version, with ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’ dropping this Friday, April 24th.

It was an electrifying performance, with Langley and Wallen's on-stage chemistry radiating throughout. This marks the latest in a string of duets from the two country chart-toppers in recent months, with Wallen coming out during Langley's recent Ryman Auditorium show, for instance, to perform ‘Cover Me Up’ together.

As a number of fans are pointing out, Langley first started teasing ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’ during her star-studded ’Choosin’ Texas’ music video. At the end of those visuals, which featured cameos from Luke Grimes, Miranda Lambert, Kaitlin Butts and more, Langley and Lambert drive away in a truck with ‘ICLYA’ on the number plate.

At the time, we wondered if this could be a hint that she was about to drop a song with these initials, with the letters pointing to either ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’ or ‘I Can't Love You Again’. Now, it's clear this was a clue teasing Langley's Wallen duet.

When introducing the track on-stage, Wallen explained, “Ella wrote this song and sent it me about a month ago and I loved it”. The fact that Langley was the one who penned the song suggests she will be the lead artist, and if this is the case, it could well be an indication that the Alabama native is about to release a deluxe version of Dandelion.

Otherwise, the timing would seem a little strange for Langley to be releasing new music so soon after sharing her eagerly anticipated sophomore album just over a week ago.

With Langley spending a whopping sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 courtesy of ‘Choosin’ Texas’, and Wallen remaining one of the most successful country artists of all time on the Hot 100, ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’ feels like a shoo-in for the top spot.

Aside from the star-power of these two artists, judging by their live performance ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’ will be an infectious, breezy and synth-backed anthem in the mould of Langley's ‘Be Her’ and Wallen's ‘Love Somebody’. We have a feeling we'll be hearing this one a lot this summer - and we're sure not complaining.
