“Bro, My Bangs Were Totally in My Eye”: Ella Langley and Riley Green Offer Hilarious Responses After Langley's On-Stage Wink Furore

Ella Langley and Riley Green are starting to have some fun with those longstanding dating rumours. The duo have taken to Instagram to offer some light-hearted responses, after a video circulated over the weekend of Langley winking at an audience-member that was holding up a sign, reading, “Wink if Riley's a Dumb***”.

In the clip, the ‘weren't for the wind’ singer-songwriter spots the fan, who is brandishing their phone with the message lit up on the screen, before playfully winking at them.

Fans took this to mean Langley was indeed calling Green a “dumb***”, and as a result, some saw this as solidifying the conjecture surrounding a potential romance and break-up.

However, it seems Ella Langley's on-stage wink was meant in jest, with both Langley and Riley Green jokingly replying to WhiskeyRiff's Instagram video of the moment.

Langley blamed the wink on her signature hairstyle, amusingly responding, “Bro, my bangs were totally in my eye”, while Green made it clear that he wasn't offended, hilariously quipping, “She must have thought it said “wink if Riley is a great dancer””.

Fans have been attempting to manifest a relationship between the two Alabama natives ever since they dropped the lovestruck ‘you look like you love me’ and ‘Don't Mind If I Do’ in quick succession last year, with the duo currently out on tour together.

In recent months, some followers have claimed their on-stage chemistry appears to have evaporated, with fans speculating that Green's rumoured romance with Megan Moroney had caused tension with his 2025 Damn Country Music tour-mate.

Last month, Riley Green and Megan Moroney were spotted at an airport together and driving around in an old car in the former's home-state, after their followers worked out they were both holidaying in the US Virgin Islands earlier in the year.

This weekend, while Langley was winking at her front-row fan, Megan Moroney was also adding fuel to the rumour-mill when she noticed an attendee wearing a Riley Green t-shirt. Moroney stepped away from the microphone, mouthing, “He f***ed up!”

A matter of weeks earlier, the ’Tennessee Orange’ crooner had commented on a fan's TikTok video, in which the user was wearing that same tee, with the playful, “Need the shirt”.

Now, with Megan Moroney seemingly implying that Riley Green “f***ed up” their romance, and Ella Langley and Green joking around on socials, who knows what to believe. Either way, this supposed love triangle still has the country world on tenterhooks.
