Ella Langley's ’Choosin’ Texas’ is showing no signs of slowing down as it cements itself as one of the biggest country hits of the decade. The traditional-leaning earworm has spent its 13th week at the pinnacle of the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

As a result of this, ‘Choosin’ Texas’ is the only song by a female artist primarily known for recording country music to have spent 13 weeks or more at No. 1 with no male-billed acts.

With Langley's ‘Be Her’ retaining its place at No. 3 and ’I Can't Love You Anymore’ with Morgan Wallen rising to No. 4, Langley secures three songs in the Top Four. Langley becomes the first woman with three country songs in the Top Four at the same time. ‘Choosin‘ Texas’, ‘Be Her’ and ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’ are joined in the Top Five by Taylor Swift's Toy Story 5 ode, ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ (No. 2), and Tame Impala and JENNIE's genre-blurring offering, ‘Dracula’ (No. 5).

It continues an unprecedented run from the ‘Dandelion’ singer-songwriter, who has established herself as one of the top country artists in the contemporary landscape. What's more, the success of both ‘Be Her’ and ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’ with Wallen have silenced any naysayers that tried to claim Langley was a one-hit wonder.

Langley is here to stay. Given how immovable ‘Choosin’ Texas’ has been at the business-end of the Hot 100 in recent weeks, we suspect the infectious song will extend its stay at No. 1. If Langley can notch 17 weeks, she will surpass Wallen's 16-week stint at the peak of the prestigious chart with his beat-driven anthem, ‘Last Night’.

In order to set a new record altogether, ‘Choosin’ Texas’ still has a fair distance to go, with Mariah Carey's ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ out in front at 22 weeks. This is partially thanks to the fact that the festive classic tends to return to No. 1 every Christmas.

Shaboozey's ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ and Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ ‘Old Town Road’ sit at 19 weeks, while Wallen's ‘Last Night’, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber's ‘Despacito’ and Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's ‘One Sweet Day’ have racked up a tally of 16 weeks. Harry Styles’ ‘As It Was’ stands alone at the 15-week mark.

Regardless of how much longer ‘Choosin’ Texas’ maintains its position at No. 1, it doesn't change its legacy, with Langley's Lone Star State-inspired ode already securing its place in the history books. Langley is one of the most prominent figures in today's country scene, and with ‘Loving Life Again’ now heading to Country Radio as her next single, we can't wait to see what's next from the Alabama titan.
