Ella Langley has scored a blockbuster 19th week atop the Billboard Hot 100 courtesy of ‘Choosin’ Texas’, with the infectious heartbreak anthem equalling the tally of Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ and Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ ‘Old Town Road’.

In doing so, ‘Choosin’ Texas’ becomes the joint longest-running non-holiday No. 1. The all-time Billboard Hot 100 record still belongs to Mariah Carey’s 1994 festive classic, ‘All I Want for Christmas’, which has amassed a whopping 22 weeks at the peak, largely thanks to the fact that it tends to return to No. 1 every Christmas.

But what’s striking about ‘Choosin’ Texas’ is how, given its colossal lead over Stella Lefty’s ‘Boston’, which reaches a new high of No. 2 this week, Langley’s Lone Star State-inspired hit is widely expected to continue its reign for at least another couple of frames.

According to current projections from outlets like Talk of the Charts, ‘Choosin’ Texas’ is expected to rack up 281 points over the course of the week, with ‘Boston’ predicted to tally 202.

Barring a major release in the next month or so that disrupts the Top Ten, many are predicting that Langley will do the unthinkable and manage to surpass Carey’s record.

Regardless of what happens from here on in, Langley's 19-week stretch at No. 1 is a truly incredible feat, and one that once again highlights Langley’s undeniable star-power, and her position as one of the dominant break-out artists of 2026 so far.

With mainstream titans like Drake showing love to ‘Choosin’ Texas’ in recent weeks, and the song even enjoying cultural moments during global events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer, there’s no question that it has transcended country music.

Langley’s success is testament both to the popularity of the genre as a whole, which is underlined by the fact that six songs in the Hot 100 Top Ten this week are from country, but also to the ‘Be Her’ hitmaker's stellar songwriting and storytelling ability.

Joining ‘Choosin’ Texas’ and ‘Boston’ in this week's Top Ten country contingent is Taylor Swift's ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ (No. 3), Morgan Wallen's ‘Been By Now’ (No. 4), Langley and Wallen's ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’ (No. 5) and Langley's ‘Be Her’ (No. 10).

We’re excited to hopefully see ‘Choosin’ Texas’ continue its run at the pinnacle of this prestigious all-genre chart. And when the time does come for it to step aside, we can’t think of many better options for the next No. 1 than Lefty’s folk-leaning earworm, ‘Boston’.
