Over the last 17 years Record Store Day has grown from being just about one single crazy day in April to being a celebration of stores across the whole calendar year. Now challenging the main Record Store Day for the sheer quality of releases, if not quite the quantity, Black Friday has evolved since it was first included in the retail plot to be a key date in the diary for vinyl lovers.

With over 175 titles this year there are more reasons than ever to get up off the couch the day after Thanksgiving and get down to your local record store to grab one of the special exclusive releases on Black Friday, which falls on 28 November in 2025.

Alongside exclusives from Benson Boone, Cage the Elephant, Curren$y, Dr. Dre, Billie Eilish, Fred again, Role Model and Talking Heads, there is also a lot to assuage the appetites of any country and Americana fans out there too, looking to pick up a little pre-Christmas treat to get the festivities rolling.

Holler picks out 10 of the best releases on offer for country lovers this Black Friday from Jelly Roll and Post Malone and to Dwight Yoakam.

Time to raid the piggy bank.

Old and In The Way - Live at Sonoma State - 11/4/73

It's a triple treat for Deadheads this Black Friday. Not only is the Grateful Dead's live album recorded at The Warfield in San Francisco in 1980 being released on vinyl as well as On A Back Porch Vol 2, but even more excitingly, one of the last live performances by the legendary bluegrass supergroup Old and In The Way. Featuring a line-up of Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Peter Rowan, John Kahn and Vassar Clements, the group is in exceptionally fine form singing and playing 19 classic tunes in their inimitable style. Also included are two songs with special guest "Ramblin'" Jack Elliott, who was also on the bill that day.

Double vinyl in gatefold packaging featuring artwork designed by D.Norsen and Taylor W. Rushing.

Limited to 5500 copies.

Linda Ronstadt - The Early Years

A stunning new compilation that celebrates the formative era of one of music's most powerful and pioneering voices. Featuring breakout hits like 'Different Drum' and the Grammy-nominated 'Long, Long Time,' The Early Years traces Ronstadt's artistic ascent, beginning with The Stone Poneys, on handpicked tracks that spotlight her emotional range, interpretive brilliance, and fearless genre-blending style.

The collection also includes blockbuster hits like 'You're No Good' and 'When Will I Be Loved' from her groundbreaking, 2x platinum album Heart Like A Wheel — the record that redefined country rock and solidified her place in music history.

You've probably already got everything on it, but it doesn't mean you won't desire it with a passion you usually only save for your romantic partners.

Limited to 1000.

7

Marcus King - No Room For Blue

No Room For Blue features bonus tracks from Grammy-nominated Marcus King and the Marcus King Band's latest album, Darling Blue – a soundtrack through the peaks and valleys of his mind and an ode to his beloved home, the Blue Ridge Mountains. First time on vinyl! This exclusive blue vinyl version of Jericho (originally released in 1993) is The Band's comeback and reunion album, marking their first studio album since Islands (1977) and their first since reforming without Robbie Robertson in 1983. Returning from the original lineup were Levon Helm (drums, mandolin and vocals), Rick Danko (bass, guitar and vocals), and Garth Hudson (organ, keyboards and horns), while pianist and vocalist Richard Manuel, who died in 1986, posthumously appears on one track.

New to the group were drummer Randy Ciarlante, keyboardist Richard Bell, and guitarist Jim Weider. The album also included contributions from outside songwriters and featured covers of artists like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Muddy Waters.

Morgan Wade - The Party is Over: Last Call

The 'Wilder Days' singer extends her recent album The Party Is Over (recovered) by adding five new tracks and pressing it to limited edition purple vinyl.

The Deluxe Version adds string-backed takes of the deeply personal ‘Hardwood Floor’ and cover of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’. Rounding out the Deluxe offerings are new solo-written tracks ‘I Didn’t Mean To’, ‘Bed Sheets’, and ‘Foolish’.

Chappell Roan - The Subway / The Giver 7"

Two iconic pop hits first shared by Chappell Roan in live performances, it's 'The Giver' on the B side that's got us thinking about camping over at Rough Trade.

2

Post Malone - Long Bed

Also known as the better half of Post Malone's F-1 Trillion, if the main albumwas notable for its star-studded guests that included everyone from Dolly Parton and Morgan Wallen to Chris Stapleton and Billy Strings, then what made Long Bed — initially released digitally as the second half of the deluxe edition of F-1 — such a joy was hearing Posty as the country artist he might one day become on his own.

The album features 9 tracks available for the first time in physical format on neon orange vinyl. Limited to 5000 copies!!! This is one bed you won't want to sleep on.
