2025 is quietly shaping up to be Presley Haile's year. Kicking it off with the sweetly melancholic 'Sunny Day,' her mix of sad sounding Ladies from The Canyon folk and dreamy West Coast country pop feels perfectly suited for a world that feels like it's falling apart all around us.
Her new single, 'Wisteria Bouquet,' follows up with last month's sublime dreamers' anthem 'Dog in the Cold,' and it's the perfect song for the way we're all feeling right now. You can imagine it being sung sitting round a crackling campfire looking up at the stars.
It's the sort of song you keep close to your heart and carry along with you everywhere you go like a musical comfort blanket. Listening to it feels almost like an act of self-preservation in these dark, sad times. As if you are escaping into a warm, comforting hug and being told it's all going to be okay.
“It's a song about growth and change," Presley Haile shared about how the song came about while she was out on the road on her Gone Fishin’ tour last Spring. "This song was written with my dear friend Kerri Lick while we were out on the road touring, one of our first stops being in East Texas. After revisiting East Texas, where I once couldn’t wait to leave, I saw the beauty I’d missed before, and that shift in perspective sparked our inspiration. We got out or notepads that night and quietly brainstormed ideas for our next song. The next day we hightailed it to Hot Springs Arkansas, and while staying at an Airbnb on the Ouachita River, Kerri pulled out her guitar. She asked what I had been writing about last night, and turns out, we had both been writing about wisteria. The song came together almost instantly, polished up over the rest of our tour.”
“It was written on the road by wandering souls in search for a word or a body of water that could fill our cups,” co-writer Kerri Lick adds.

Hailing from Hamilton, Texas, Presley Haile draws inspiration from legends like John Prine, James Taylor and Patty Griffin. Post-high school, Presley made her way to East Texas and in 2021 she dropped her debut 'New Mexico' followed by the 2023 fan favourite 'Mountain Daughter.' The track has amassed hundreds of thousands of streams and paved the way for 'Less Lonesome' and “Lone Star State of Mind.' In between, Presley opened for everyone from Ty Myers to Randy Rogers Band. Now signed to Columbia Records, she will also be playing at AMERICANAFEST 2025 in September.
"Wisteria symbolizes growth, change, and resilience," Presley shared recently on her socials about the song. "So here’s to moving forward and finding beauty in the places you never thought you could."
Sounds good to us. We know what we'll be listening to.
'Wisteria Bouquet' is released on Columbia Records on 9 May 2025
