During the half-time show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final match between France and Spain, Zac Brown Band led a crowd-wide sing-along of their hit, ‘Chicken Fried’.
The Georgia troubadours made a surprise appearance as the half-time performers at the Dallas Stadium (otherwise known as the AT&T Stadium), with legendary UFC announcer Bruce Buffer introducing Zac Brown Band to the stage at half-time.
Their performance came during a pivotal match, with France widely expected to triumph over a Spanish team that had been underperforming throughout the FIFA World Cup so far.
But Spain turned on the magic from the first second, with their superstar Lamine Yamal producing a stellar performance alongside the likes of Rodri, Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro. La Roja won 2-0, with Kylian Mbappé's France unable to respond.
Zac Brown Band's involvement in this semi-final clash was a welcome reminder of how popular country music has become in mainstream culture, with numerous football-country crossovers taking place throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup so far.
There was the iconic moment where the ITV commentary team referenced Ella Langley's Lone Star State anthem, ‘Choosin’ Texas’, during England's match against Croatia.
Zac Brown Band are gearing up to kick off the North America leg of their Love & Fear Tour this weekend, following a successful couple of shows across The Pond in London, UK, including a blockbuster performance supporting Garth Brooks at BST Hyde Park.
Tonight, Spain's 2026 FIFA World Cup opponents will be decided, as Harry Kane's England take on Lionel Messi's Argentina for a coveted spot in the final in New York on Sunday.
