There's nothing sweeter than a No. 1 hit, and folk-soul star Hozier just secured his first on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his most recent offering, 'Too Sweet'.

Just weeks ago, the tune, which arrived last month by way of his surprise Unheard EP, debuted at No. 5 on the Hot 100 and very quickly made its ascent.

Hozier celebrated the victory with a message to the ones who made it happen: his fans. In a video posted across his social media, he shared his gratitude with listeners around the world, thanking them for making 'Too Sweet' No. 1 in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

“I just want to say a huge, huge thank you to all the supporters, all the fans around the world,” he said in a reel on Instagram. “It’s absolutely staggering. I’m taken massively by surprise by it, but I just want to say thank you so, so much for your support. I’m so thrilled that you’re enjoying ‘Too Sweet,’ and it means the world to me”.

The news of the No. 1 arrived just as Hozier kicked off the second leg of his Unreal Unearth Tour, in support of his acclaimed 2023 release of the same name.

The extended jaunt began on Saturday (April 20) in Raleigh, North Carolina and is set to take him across North America, Europe and back again for much of 2024. The trek will see the artist tackle his biggest headlining show yet, a date at London’s 45,000-capacity Finsbury Park with Brittany Howard and Lord Huron along for support.
