After teasing us for months, BigXthaPlug has shared a sneak preview of his long-awaited new Shaboozey collaboration, which appears to be titled, ‘Highway Highway’.
In the newly shared snippet, BigXthaPlug offers fans a tantalising look behind the scenes of this blockbuster link-up. The infectious track finds Shaboozey's distinctive, brooding vocals floating across a trap-infused instrumental, with ‘Highway Highway’ seemingly set to appear on BigX's previously teased country-leaning EP.
In the caption, the ‘TAKE CARE’ crooner teases, “I THINK ITS TIME”, with Shaboozey taking to the comments to echo BigXthaPlug's enthusiasm, “Foot on the gas!”
Back in April, just a matter of hours after Shaboozey released his stellar Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going: The Complete Edition deluxe album, the ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ chart-topper shared a photo of him recording new music alongside BigXthaPlug.
The duo have been good friends for some time now, with BigXthaPlug lending his vocals to ‘Drink Don't Need No Mix’, one of the many stand-outs from Shaboozey's original version of Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going, which dropped in May 2024.
Speaking to Holler in March, Shaboozey toasted BigX, both as a person and an artist, “Man, he's amazing, that's my guy. He's just a humble guy, a loving man and a great guy. Everyone around him loves him, he takes care of his people, his family, he's just a really stand-up guy. I think he's one of the most polarising people in music right now”.
‘Highway Highway’ will follow BigXthaPlug's stellar, viral collaboration with Bailey Zimmerman, ‘All the Way’, which was released last month after spreading rapidly across TikTok.
BigX's highly anticipated debut country EP, which is yet to be given a release date, is also set to feature collaborations with Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs and Post Malone.
