After deactivating social media and cancelling the rest of his tour to get back on track, ERNEST has returned to his online life, thanking fans for their support and reassuring them that he’s OK.

“The road has been dragging me down in a bad way,” ERNEST shared with fans on August 28th, after which he deactivated his Instagram account and cancelled the rest of his summer appearances, including his support slot for Ella Langley.

Threads, however, was still live, and the ‘Lorelei’ singer gave fans an update the very next day. “I guess I forgot this was a thing,” he said of the app, “...this is gonna be a much needed healthy lil break and I look forward to playing country music for yall soon.”

ERNEST has had a huge year: his Live From The South tour, releasing his keenly awaited Deep Blue album, touring with Ella Langley and finding himself at the centre of a lawsuit regarding his album artwork. Through it all, however, ERNEST’s happy-go-lucky personality has shone through. His videos showcasing life on and off the road were peppered with tongue-in-cheek ditties and well humoured responses to fan comments.

But it seems, beneath all that, the Nashville native has been struggling. Returning to Instagram today, September 7th, he shared an update.

“Just checking in to say thank you for all the love and support …. Bottom line is I was LOST… i recon I still am … but the search is on…. And that’s new to me….

“If anything, through this time, I am really starting to touch back in with my relationship with God… growing up in the church / Christian school, I would say I got a bit burnt out on it all. I have spent far too long relying on my own (dumbass) way and thinking I can outsmart my better judgement….

“That’s not the case…. I don’t have many answers at all…. But I do know where it’s starting…. A dialogue with something greater than ME. I can’t define it and don’t know if anyone really can… I just know that I have a beautiful life, family and friends that deserve me at my best. I deserve that for me too….

“I’m not preaching by any means…. But I just wanted to let yall know I’m taking this time to dig and discover. I love yall… and I love country music… Il be back to both soon! 🩵”

Friends and fans have flooded the comments, sharing support for the ‘Flower Shops’ crooner. Fellow Nashvillians Jake Owen, Walker Hayes, Mitchell Tenpenny, Brandon Lake, Conner Smith and Flatland Cavalry are amongst the many that have shared their love and appreciation in the comments, reminding him to take the time, explore his faith and come back stronger.

ERNEST’s Deep Blue album was his love letter to the Caribbean Islands that he finds himself happiest on. Here’s hoping that he finds a little bit of that happiness again and brings his fun-loving country soul back to us soon.
