While most artists nowadays tend to opt for a social media announcement or perhaps an interview reveal, Garth Brooks has once again bucked the trend - much like his approach to streaming - by dropping some clues via his website's news page.

In a newly shared press release, Brooks and his team have hinted that 2026 is about to be a truly blockbuster year for his fans, with new music and new tour-dates on the way.

In a brief statement, the ‘Friends in Low Places’ hitmaker enthuses, “I'm an artist, I HAVE to make music. And I'm an entertainer, so I HAVE to take the music to the people”.

He goes on to give one of his trademark shout-outs his wife, Trisha Yearwood, who is performing throughout March and April. Brooks teases a busy period for both artists after Yearwood returns from the road, “My bride is touring through the first half of the year. Then we will see what may be waiting for us in the second half”.

Brooks is set to headline London's BST Hyde Park festival in June, with support coming from fellow country titans Zac Brown Band and Ashley McBryde, with the ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’ crooner also performing at Milwaukee's Summerfest 2026.

It remains to be seen exactly what Brooks has up his sleeve for 2026, but his reference to Yearwood could suggest we've got a duets album coming. The husband-and-wife duo have collaborated on a number of occasions in recent years, even dropping a joint Christmas record in 2016 and a few compilation projects after this.

Alternatively, perhaps Brooks is simply suggesting he has a new solo record en route. It would serve as the follow-up to 2023's Time Traveler. Bizarrely, Brooks released that as a Bass Pro Shops exclusive, with the project since being made available on Amazon Music. Brooks still has an exclusivity deal with Amazon Music, which means his catalogue of chart-toppers can only be streamed via the platform.

As a result, we're a little reluctant to get too excited about this new music announcement from Brooks’ camp, because it's a very distinct possibility that he'll have another unorthodox rollout plan in store, and we might not be able to stream it right away.
