Kenny Chesney surprised attendees at his intimate Flora-Bama show last night (Saturday, April 18th) by bringing out his good friend, Megan Moroney, for a special on-stage duet.

Chesney and Moroney have become close buddies over the past few years, performing on a number of occasions throughout the former's 2024 Sun Goes Down Tour, before teaming up for their full-circle collaboration, ‘You Had To Be There’, the following year.

They joined forces at Flora-Bama, one of Florida's most iconic venues, and one that has been immortalised in the country music canon, courtesy of Chesney's 2017 ode of the same name.

The slightly chaotic and eclectic but unmistakable beach-inspired theme of the wonderful venue mirrors the spirit that underpins Chesney's loyal No Shoes Nation fanbase, making this the perfect setting for the ‘I Go Back’ hitmaker's set. Chesney was celebrating the 10-year anniversary of his popular No Shoes Radio station on SiriusXM.

Moroney emerged on-stage to serenade the packed-out crowd with one of Chesney's fan-favourites, ‘All the Pretty Girls’, as well as performing their hit single, ‘You Had To Be There’. The nostalgic anthem received a coveted 2025 CMA nomination for Musical Event of the Year, and is up for the same award at the 2026 ACMs.

Shortly after the momentous performance, the ‘Just To Say We Did’ singer-songwriter took to social media to toast the electrifying concert, “What a magical afternoon at the Flora-Bama celebrating 10 years of No Shoes Radio with @SiriusXM”.

No Shoes Radio, which offers fans a fascinating insight to Chesney's life on tour and the stories behind some of his most beloved songs, is hosted by the brilliant Kizzi and Tommy.

He went on to express his gratitude to fans and pay tribute to Moroney, “Thanks to everyone for caring about the songs, the music and the experience of it all. Special thanks to @MegMoroney for being there. You always light up the stage. Love you”.

Chesney has become a mentor of sorts to Moroney, with the latter regularly praising how generous the five-time CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year is with his time and advice.

We're hoping this is the latest in a long list of collaborations from the duo, and we're confident that we can look forward to a reunion at Chesney's Sphere Las Vegas shows this summer.
