“It's Amazing How Alive Reading This Made Me Feel”: Kenny Chesney Confirms He is Recording an Audiobook Version of ‘HEART*LIFE*MUSIC’

In a new statement, Kenny Chesney has confirmed he is in the process of recording an audiobook version of his eagerly anticipated HEART*LIFE*MUSIC project.

HEART*LIFE*MUSIC will serve as the ‘I Go Back’ hitmaker's first ever book, and has been co-written by one of Chesney's longtime friends and revered author, Holly Gleason. It will be released on November 4th, 2025, and is available to pre-order now.

Alongside a new photo of him capturing the audiobook in Tennessee's Blackbird Studios, Chesney has gushed, “It’s amazing how alive reading this made me feel…”

The country legend expands, “It’s funny. When you’re living it, it’s being in the moment. When we were writing it, it was looking back and really striving to get it right. But now, reading it, all of these stories become real again. I can see everybody, from the Turf and the Wheel, to (Capricorn Records founders) Phil Walden with all that charisma and (renowned producer) Barry Beckett telling me to ‘put a smile on it’”.

The ‘Just To Say We Did’ crooner admits it's been a more intricate process than he anticipated, “It takes a lot longer than I thought to record an audiobook, or maybe it’s just I would get lost in seeing all the people and places along the way. In a way, it’s what I did with my summer vacation: visit all these adventures I’ve had, because when I started to hear the stories, I felt like I was living them all over again”.

Chesney reflects on some of the key highlights of HEART*LIFE*MUSIC, “Thinking about the moments, reading the stories, it all got very real for me – the blessings of so much wisdom people gave me and unthinkable things I got to do. I was here at an amazing time, got to experience a Nashville closer to Willie Nelson or George Jones when they were trying to make it happen – and I got to live this crazy dream alongside so many heroes, make great friends. Hearing it come out of my mouth, it’s a lot to take in; I almost wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t been there”.

The ‘When I See This Bar’ singer-songwriter excitedly concludes via his Instagram post, “Recording the audiobook for [HEART*LIFE*MUSIC] brought all these stories back to life. Grateful for the journey, the memories, and each moment along the way”.

Given how personal and sincere Chesney's stories and musings in HEART*LIFE*MUSIC are, it will be a treat for No Shoes Nation to get to hear the Tropical Country trailblazer introducing extra lustre to so many experiences through this audiobook. It will help to make the reader feel like they are right there in the room with him, as he looks back on one of country music's most storied careers.
