Hot on the heels of announcing her Keepin’ Country Cool documentary will be coming to Netflix in April, Lainey Wilson has teased her next chapter with a brand new song snippet.
Via Instagram, the ‘Somewhere Over Laredo’ hitmaker has shared a black-and-white clip of her in a car, alongside the simple caption cantsitstill.com. When you click through to this website and pre-save via Spotify or sign up via your email address, a portion of the new unreleased track, ‘Can't Sit Still’, plays over the speakers.
It begins with a rough acoustic demo version of the song, before the full studio rendition suddenly enters the fray, accentuating the galvanising, uptempo feel of the earworm hook.
Wilson's distinctive Louisiana drawl glides across a lively guitar instrumental, as she reflects on what's been another Whirlwind year, during which she's been going a mile a minute.
It's not yet clear whether the ‘Hang Tight Honey’ singer-songwriter is launching a new album rollout with ‘Can't Sit Still’, or whether this is set to be a standalone release.
It's possible, given the timing of the unexpected teaser, that Wilson is planning to drop ‘Can't Sit Still’ as part of the promotional run for her Keepin’ Country Cool documentary. The project is released globally on Netflix on April 22nd, 2026, and the theme of ‘Can't Sit Still’ would definitely play into the astronomical success-story being told via the documentary. Either way, new music from Lainey Wilson is always cause for celebration, and we can't wait to hear the full song...
