It looks like Landman fans will have to wait longer than expected for Season 3.

James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley, recently revealed that filming is expected to begin in September and continue into the first quarter of 2027. Filming was originally meant to start in May, before being pushed back to August. Now, following this latest delay, a mid-late 2027 premiere looks most likely at this point. Both previous seasons of Landman, it's worth flagging, premiered in November.

The wait follows two hugely successful seasons, and fans are understandably chomping at the bit for Season 3.

Season 1 became Paramount’s biggest original at the time, reaching over 14 million households globally within four weeks. Season 2 then grew even faster, with its opening episode attracting more than 9 million views in two days, becoming the platform’s most watched original series premiere.

We have reason to be optimistic ahead of Season 3, though, with Jordan describing the script as “amazing”.

He went on to share that Taylor Sheridan is still writing and expects 10 “crazy, wonderful, funny and wild” episodes, although Paramount+ is yet to confirm the episode count.

So what do we know?

There is no official confirmed cast list yet. However, Season 2 ended with Tommy Norris and Cooper starting a new chapter, creating plenty of unfinished business for the Norris family.

Billy Bob Thornton has outlined in interviews that he believes Season 3 could combine the danger and tension of Season 1 with the family chaos and oil business drama of Season 2. He was careful to stress that this was only his own prediction, but it sounds like the perfect combination of everything that has made the show successful.

Landman has connected country audiences with the workers, families and communities behind modern West Texas. Its success proves there is still an enormous appetite for stories rooted in rural America, complicated families and the industries that shape their lives.

The arrival of Landman in 2024 kept the momentum going for both Sheridan and Paramount, following a colossal success story in the form of Yellowstone with Kevin Costner.

Season 3 of Landman may take longer to reach our screens, but after two record-breaking seasons, it will undoubtedly be worth the wait while the team drill a little deeper...
