MacKenzie Porter makes an appearance in the brand new Amazon Prime Video series, The Runarounds, which follows a group of teenagers as they attempt to find rock n‘ roll fame.
Porter plays Phoebe Rhodes, with the Thelma & James hitmaker sharing via Instagram last night, “Tomorrow THE RUNAROUNDS drops on @primevideo and you get to meet “PHEOBE RHODES””, before hinting at what fans can expect, “She’s a badass and so is this new show so I think you should probably binge the crap out of it”.
The storyline pivots around the love story between the lead singer of the aspiring band, Charlie (played by William Lipton) and Sophia (Lilah Pate), and follows the various trials and tribulations the group have to endure through their ascent.
It's safe to say MacKenzie Porter is staying busy in 2025, with the Canadian hitmaker not only part of the fast-emerging duo, Thelma & James, with her husband, Jake Etheridge, but Porter is also continuing to take on a host of high-profile TV roles.
Porter has previously starred in shows and movies such as Dinosapien, Hell on Wheels, Travelers and The Other Woman, with the ‘These Days’ crooner confirming via her socials earlier in the summer that she'd be featuring in 911 Nashville in October.
Thelma & James, meanwhile, have cemented themselves as one of the most exciting new figures in the country-folk scene, with the duo following up their viral hit, ‘Happy Ever After You’, with strong singles such as ‘Canaries in a Coal Mine’ and ‘First Love’.
