There are few friendships in the contemporary country scene that we love as much as Kenny Chesney and Megan Moroney's, with the duo having become good buddies ever since they hit the road together in 2024 on the summer Sun Goes Down Tour.

They regularly share their support for one another via social media, and we view their partnership as a radiant example of the camaraderie we could do with more of in today's country music landscape (we're looking at you, Gavin Adcock and Zach Bryan). There's enough division and hostility in the world, and we think a lot of us could learn a thing or two from Chesney and Moroney's wholesome friendship.

Epitomising this is Moroney's response to a new post that Chesney has shared of him with his mother, Karen, unveiling a new range of festive green No Shoes Nation sweatshirts.

Alongside the shot of him holding the jumper, emblazoned with the classic No Shoes Nation skull and crossbones with a Santa hat placed jauntily on the skull, the country titan announces, “Happy Holidays everyone. Got new sweatshirts in the store”.

Chesney recently hosted a special episode of his No Shoes Radio channel on SiriusXM alongside his mother, with the two running through some of their favourite songs together. The country icon regularly pays homage to Karen, and emphasises how she imparted a sense of positivity and optimism in him from an early age.

In October, for instance, the ‘Everything's Gonna Be Alright’ crooner reflected, “My father gave me the love of sports, and I'm very grateful for that, and I think I got a lot of discipline from my father. The idea of that...work ethic...”, before warmly expanding, But I got work ethic from my mother, also. My mom gave me...I mean, she comes to shows and she acts like she's never had a bad day in her life, which she has. But she chooses to have positive energy and give that to the world”.

In response, Moroney has heartwarmingly gushed, “Save 1 for me pls”. We're here for friends supporting friends in their endeavours - even if your friend is a five-time CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year winner and recent Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, who, in all honesty, probably doesn't need much additional support. Either way, we're glad to see Moroney lifting up Chesney, with the latter often returning the favour and paying homage to the ‘Six Months Later’ hitmaker.

Just recently, before they walked the CMA Awards Red Carpet together earlier this month, Chesney mused, “Megan's story is really unbelievable, because it wasn't that long ago she was one of many college students that went with a bunch of friends”.

As well as performing together countless times on the Sun Goes Down Tour, as well as during Moroney's Am I Okay? run and Chesney's Las Vegas Sphere residency this summer, the duo teamed up this year for a blockbuster collaboration, ‘You Had To Be There’. Moroney endearingly penned the track as a present for Chesney.

We're excited to see what else these two have up their sleeves - and we'll be keeping our fingers crossed that, after Moroney wrote him a song last Christmas, perhaps this year Chesney will return the favour and craft a track in Moroney's honour...
