Riding the waves of heightened anticipation, Morgan Wallen continues to drop teasers for his new record, I’m The Problem.
As one of the biggest names in modern country music, the CMA Entertainer of the Year has no problems drumming up conversations around his new music. Wallen fans are hungry for the next album and he knows it.
We’ve so far had six released songs, a further eight titles and one confirmation of a female duet. Today (12th April), the ‘One Thing AtA Time’ singer has released another tease of an unreleased, previously undiscussed song.
Shared on his Instagram story with nothing but an image of a sound wave, Wallen shared the upbeat, groovy number. The song follows him leaving a town where his reputation precedes him, adamant that he won’t be returning. Against more of a modern-country, road trip sound, Wallen has hinted that he’s not the only artist providing vocals on the track.
“Might put this one out next but gotta check with the other artist on it first,” he wrote, with not a drop more info on who it might be. The 30 seconds of lyrics shared are as follows:
"Half of this town
Has got a name for me
And I can’t say I don’t agree
But the night I said I’m leaving
I turned into Richard Petty
Broke my heart so I got even
In my 97 chevvy
Now I’m walking on this water
Mixed with Johnny Walker Black
There’s a lot of reasons I ain’tJesus
But the main one is that I ain’t coming back
Oh no I ain’t comin back"
Seemingly titled, ‘I Ain’t Coming Back,’ it doesn’t look to be part of the track list he has released so far.
The feature tracks that we’re currently aware of from his infamous appearance on Saturday Night Live are ‘I Got Better’, ’Come Back As A Redneck’, which features a mystery artist, along with ‘What I Want’ with another surprise guest, ‘LA Night’, ‘Miami’, ‘Skoal, Chevy and Browning’, ‘Where'd That Girl Go’, ‘Genesis’ and ‘Number 3 and Number 7’ - the latter also being a duet.
Maybe this newly teased song will feature in his new ‘Shop Sessions’ on YouTube, maybe it’ll be his next release before the album drops, or maybe he’ll tease us with something new next week. Either way, we’re locked, loaded and ready for whatever Morgan shares next.
