We suspected the arrival of Morgan Wallen's new album, I'm the Problem, would have a seismic impact - both on the country music landscape, and on the all-genre charts.

But the brooding, introspective record is surpassing all expectations with a monumental opening week, with I'm the Problem expected to move between 450-500K units.

The project is virtually a shoo-in to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with last week's No. 1, Sleep Token's Even in Arcadia, securing the top spot with just 127K units.

It's still early days, with each Billboard Hot 100 usually unveiled on Mondays or Tuesdays, but a trio of stand-outs from I'm the Problem are vying for the pinnacle for the next frame.

What I Want’, Morgan Wallen's titanic crossover collaboration with Canadian pop phenom, Tate McRae, is a leading candidate for No. 1, with ‘What I Want’ topping both Spotify's Global Top Songs Debut and US Top Songs Debut charts this week.

However, at the moment, ‘Just in Case’ - which was released back in March - is predicted to hit No. 1 with 231 points, with ‘What I Want’ expected to slot in at No. 2 with 225. ‘I'm the Problem’, the project's title-track, is on-pace to hit No. 3 with 223, while ‘Superman’, the vulnerable ode to Wallen's son, Indigo, is heading for No. 4 with 189.

If Morgan Wallen is successful and blocks out the entire Top 4 of the Billboard Hot 100, he will become only the fifth artist in the chart's history to do so, joining four fellow chart titans in the esteemed club, The Beatles, Drake, Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar.

At the moment, the ‘Everything I Love’ singer-songwriter's summery, Latin-infused earworm, ‘Love Somebody’, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in October 2024, is expected to slot back in at No. 7, with another fan-favourite from I'm the Problem, ’I Got Better’, on track to debut at No. 8. The Post Malone-assisted ‘I Ain't Comin‘ Back’ is currently predicted to return to the Top 20 and hit No. 15.

The success of I'm the Problem is not restricted to US shores, with the project contending with Sherlocks’ Everything Must Make Sense for the No. 1 spot on the UK's Official Albums Chart. Should Morgan Wallen be victorious, this would mark a colossal feat, and would be the first country No. 1 since Beyoncé's COWBOY CARTER.

Underlining Morgan Wallen's growth in recent years is the fact that his previous two albums, One Thing At A Time and Dangerous, reached peaks of No. 40 and No. 77 respectively. I'm the Problem presently sits at No. 1, but the official No. 1 is crowned on Sunday.

With Wallen set to return to the UK next week for a blockbuster one-night-only show at London's Roundhouse and a 2026 Australia tour seemingly being teased in recent weeks, there's no question the ‘I'm a Little Crazy’ maverick has now gone global.
