It's no secret that it's been a tough few years for Florida Georgia Line fans, having to watch Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley engaging in a public war of words, with BK even dropping what definitely seemed to be a diss track aimed at THubb, ‘Kiss My Boots’.
Then, they appeared on Bussin’ with the Boys simultaneously, with each member of the record-breaking, goalpost-shifting duo sharing their side of the story as to why they split.
At that point, it seemed all hope of a Florida Georgia Line reunion was lost, with Brian Kelley taking to socials to stress the two would not be getting back together any time soon.
However, a mysterious new compilation EP has been released via Florida Georgia Line's official Apple Music and Spotify pages, titled, Deep Cuts & Lost Tracks, Vol. 1.
As the name suggests, the surprise project features hidden gems from FGL's expansive catalogue of hits, such as the rowdy, down-home ‘Small Town’ and the reggae-infused ‘Life is a Honeymoon’, which includes a set of guest vocals from Ziggy Marley.
Given the fact that Big Machine own all the recordings that Florida Georgia Line produced during their active career, this could simply be a way of the label gaining some extra income and providing something fun and (semi) new for long-time fans to enjoy.
Some seem to think, however, that this could be an indication that Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard are planning to reform Florida Georgia Line, with a reunion on the horizon.
The duo have seemingly been on friendlier terms of late, with the Bussin’ with the Boys clearing of the air appearing to help the situation. BK and THubb have revealed they still talk, and that they commiserated on the closing of FGL House in Nashville.
As much as we'd like to see a Florida Georgia Line reunion happen, along with a full-blown Greatest Hits tour featuring ‘Cruise’, ‘Round Here’, ‘Sippin’ on Fire’ and ‘May We All’ - we're getting excited just thinking about it - we reckon this unexpected project is most likely just a reissue from Big Machine. Nonetheless, we're holding out hope that we'll one day get to see the FGL boys linking up on-stage again, particularly given the fact that ‘Country in My Soul’, the first track from Deep Cuts & Lost Tracks, Vol. 1, is a toast to BK and THubb's shared love of the genre.
