Noah Kahan Becomes First Artist Confirmed for ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ Album

Noah Kahan has just been confirmed as the first artist on the highly anticipated album, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

The ‘End of August’ singer has been teasing the release for a few days now, with lyrics and videos posted across his social media. Internet sleuths were quick to put his clues together, with some saying they’d known for a while.

But Kahan and The Hunger Games franchise confirmed today what everyone had already been speculating: Noah Kahan’s new song, ‘Draw You Out’, is the first track to be released from the long awaited project.

Posting the news on social media, Kahan said, “This is something I’ve always wanted to do and I am so grateful for the opportunity to write for this moving film, having adored the works of art by Suzanne Collins.”

“I was already totally connected and inspired by the tragic yet hopeful story of Haymitch and Lenore Dove, and writing a song about the purpose, grief and perseverance through pain that they exemplify was an experience I’ll always be grateful for. This is an incredible film, and I am so honored to be a small part of it.”

For “Draw You Out,” Kahan worked with friend, GRAMMY®-winning producer, Aaron Dessner, who co-wrote and co-produced the track at New York’s Long Pond Studio and Nashville’s Gold Pacific Studios and East Iris Studios. The duo have previously worked closely together on Kahan’s The Great Divide album.

‘Draw You Out’ sits on a project executive produced by Dave Cobb, who has worked with the likes of Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson, joining a body of 29 cross-genre artists. Kahan is the first one to be named.

“Draw You Out” for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album) is out October 2nd, along with presave of the album.
