Whatever happens nowadays in the modern music world, everyone has an opinion - particularly when it comes to what qualifies as “country” and, crucially, what doesn't.

Whether fans are having Instagram scuffles about Beyoncé, or bemoaning the latest YeeDM remix, there's always something that people manage to work themselves up about.

Often, the best response to detraction is humour - as Noah Kahan has displayed in a truly hilarious response after receiving flak for appearing on the RedWest 2025 bill.

Somewhat bizarrely, the @estreetnation Bruce Springsteen fanpage seemed to take issue with Noah Kahan's inclusion on this festival line-up, with the user complaining on Kahan's post, “Noah Kahan, Love your music but you are not country singer”.

Kahan had a brilliantly - and typically - satirical comeback, sharing simply, “can’t believe this is how I find out”. Elsewhere, a flurry of his loyal fans angrily responded to the E Street Nation page, pointing out that there are a host of artists blurring the lines between, folk, rock and country on the stacked RedWest 2025 line-up.

However, rather than cutting their losses, the E Street Nation user came back with a lengthier objection, outlining, “You're playing at a country festival, that's not your genre buddy. Unless they take that type of concert off and it's all singers like you did at Asbury Park with Bruce Springsteen. Your music is Indie folk not country”.

The ‘Northern Attitude’ singer-songwriter had another playful, tongue-in-cheek reply at the ready, though, amusingly sharing, “I need some time to process this news”.

Despite blossoming into one of the biggest names in today's landscape, Noah Kahan has endearingly maintained the light-hearted, self-deprecating and conversational tone of his social media accounts. Rather than finding the sleek, carefully curated carousels that other artists tend to prefer, you'll see Kahan making quips about his favourite TV shows or reflecting on his toilet habits. Never change, Noah.

We love to see Noah Kahan making forays into the country music world, such as during CMA Fest 2025 this weekend with his moving Kelsea Ballerini duet, ‘Cowboys Cry Too’.

What's more, the RedWest 2025 line-up is absolutely incredible, with Kahan, Post Malone and Kacey Musgraves headlining, with the likes of Ella Langley, Ian Munsick, Koe Wetzel, Treaty Oak Revival, The Red Clay Strays, Sam Barber, Avery Anna, Midland, Ole 60 and more set to perform at the Salt Lake City, Utah extravaganza.
