Post Malone, in his Dolly Parton t-shirt, is amongst the latest to pay tribute to the late singer. Parton’s death has fallen heavily worldwide, particularly for those in country music, for whom she was a shining light and fearless inspiration.
“I just want to raise a f***ing massive toast to the absolutely f***ing legendary Dolly Parton,” Post proposed, in true Post Malone style, during his set at YQM Country Fest. He raised his beer, adding, “We love you so very very much and we’re gonna miss you so very very f***ing much.”
With a career that spanned nearly 70 years, Parton was a beacon of hope and influence in the music industry. Much like Post, her refusal to bend to the mold and match industry expectations made her an icon, paving the way for disruptors behind her.
Post and Parton shared a song on his F1-Trillion album, ‘Have The Heart’, released just two years before the ‘9-5’ singer’s sad passing.
“Thank you for inspiring me,” Post continued, “and thank you for inspiring millions and millions if not billions of f***ing people. Cheers, ladies and gentlemen.”
Dolly Parton was among many country music icons that featured on Post’s album, paying homage to the talent in modern country music.
