“Somebody I’m Such a Big Fan Of”: Riley Green Pays Tribute to Ella Langley as He Looks Back at Their 2025 CMA Awards Win

Riley Green is reflecting on his impressive haul from last year's CMA Awards courtesy of ‘you look like you love me’ with Ella Langley, with Green paying tribute to his duet partner.

The ‘Worst Way’ hitmaker begins by underlining how much he appreciates any form of acknowledgement during the country awards circuit, “Any kind of recognition from your peers and country music in general is such a big deal, but when it's something that's around songwriting to me is probably the most meaningful thing”.

Green and Langley took home three 2025 CMA Awards for ‘you look like you love me’, with the traditional-leaning anthem triumphing in Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year. When you add in Musical Event of the Year from the 2024 ceremony, this makes it the first song to ever win in all four categories.

As he watches footage from that special night, which also saw Green and Langley teaming up on-stage to perform ‘you look like you love me’ at the star-studded ceremony, Green fondly muses, “That took me right back. That's awesome. What a big moment too to get any kind of recognition in an award show like that”.

He then pays homage to Langley, and underlines how glad he is to see the success she's been enjoying over the past 12 months or so, with ‘Choosin’ Texas’ on track to become the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 of all time next week.

Green expresses his admiration for his fellow Alabama native, “To win an award like that and also with Ella, somebody I'm such a big fan of, you know, to see her success in the last year...So it's just been great, and that was kind of the start of it for her”.

Elsewhere in the interview, the ‘Different ‘Round Here’ singer-songwriter admits he was a little nervous before performing at the ceremony in front of your heroes, but jokes that it helps when you're singing one of the biggest hits of the year.

Green is gearing up to release his brand new album, That's Just Me, while Langley prepares for what promises to be another hugely successful CMA Awards this November. The ‘Be Her’ crooner is up for a whopping nine nominations.
