Riley Green Set to Appear on ‘Marshals: A Yellowstone Story’ in “Mid-April”

As much as we're enjoying Taylor Sheridan's new Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, which sees Luke Grimes returning as his beloved character, Kayce Dutton, we'd be lying if we said we weren't keeping our eyes peeled for Riley Green in every episode.

Well, an official CBS representative has now confirmed to Country Living that the ‘Worst Way’ singer-songwriter will be making his dramatic TV debut on the series in “mid-April”.

Which means we don't have long to wait. Marshals is set to feature a total of 13 episodes, with the season finale dropping on Sunday, May 24th at 8pm. It's not 100% clear whether Green will cameo in just one episode, but he's reportedly a returning character.

In an interview with ExtraTV at the Marshals premiere, Green shed some light on what viewers can expect from his character, Garrett, “Garrett is a former Navy SEAL, was on the teams with Luke. He’s troubled. He’s got some issues in what they went through together back in the day. As he shows back up, he’s struggling to deal with all that, and Kayce is constantly trying to help him and let him into that Western lifestyle and what they have out there as Marshals. It’s a pretty vulnerable character. He’s had a tough time, and that was the cool thing for me to try to get into that position and mentally go there. It was a great character for me”.

The Alabama native also hinted that he'll be doing some on-screen performing, and we're hoping he'll drop a new song as part of the country-leaning Marshals soundtrack. Green coyly teased, “I get to play a little bit. Garrett does play a little guitar”.

Elsewhere during the conversation, the ‘you look like you love me’ chart-topper admitted he felt a little daunted by this new project, “It was a really fun experience for me. Because it’s something I went into somewhat nervous…I don’t get nervous to play shows anymore, I’ve been doing it so long, but this was a brand new thing for me. It was a big learning curve, and I’m glad they were patient with me”.

Episode 5 of Marshals Season One dropped last night (Sunday, March 29th), and with Green entering the fray in “mid-April”, that seemingly means we can look forward to witnessing the country titan joining the Marshals crew around Episode 7 or 8.
