Shaboozey surprised attendees at his stellar Railbird Festival 2025 set by bringing out his good friend and duet partner, Sierra Ferrell, for a spellbinding performance of their new collaboration, ‘Hail Mary’. The track appears on Shaboozey's expanded Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going: The Complete Edition project.
It added an extra sense of lustre to the momentous occasion, with Shaboozey and Ferrell's endearing friendship on full display throughout their performance. The duo brought the aching, despairing feel of ‘Hail Mary’ to the Railbird stage in Lexington, Kentucky.
This isn't the first time the two artists have joined forces to perform the much-loved track, with Shaboozey and Sierra Ferrell combining at Stagecoach 2025 for its live debut.
‘Hail Mary’ finds the artists stepping into the shoes of two old flames who can't move past their post-break-up anguish, with Shaboozey and Ferrell deciding their only hope now is to send a final plea for peace up to Heaven (“You could cut me off or maybe you could spare mе / And we could just go out and throw a last Hail Mary”).
In a heartfelt social media post following the on-stage link-up, Sierra Ferrell fondly reflected, “That’s a wrap...time to cocoon...so I can butterfly down the road once again...See y’all under the Thunder Moon...Thank you @shaboozey + @railbirdfestival for a beautiful bookend”. Shaboozey warmly responded in the comments, “Very Healthy, Love you King!”, with Ferrell replying, “@shaboozey atta girl boy ❤️”.
It seems we have another star-studded Shaboozey collaboration on the horizon, with the ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ hitmaker teasing a blockbuster joint track with BigXthaPlug, ‘Highway Highway’, last month. This unreleased offering marks their second collaboration, following 2024's trap-infused ‘Drink Don't Need No Mix’.
