In a contemporary country world that often feels increasingly dogged by petty rivalries and deeply entrenched battle-lines, Kenny Chesney and Megan Moroney's friendship is a reminder of the warmth and camaraderie that the genre can instil.

Last week, when the news broke that Kenny Chesney would be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this year alongside Tony Brown and June Carter Cash, Megan Moroney took to Instagram to celebrate his achievement, gushing, “Deserved!!!!”

Now, in the wake of Megan Moroney headlining two blockbuster shows at the Akins Ford Arena in her home-state of Georgia - just a stone's throw from her alma mater, the University of Georgia - Kenny Chesney has endearingly returned the compliment.

After Moroney reflected on how much the weekend's performances meant to her via Instagram, Chesney heartwarmingly responded in the comments, “So proud of you”.

In the initial post, the ‘Tennessee Orange’ singer-songwriter movingly mused, “just when i thought it couldn’t get any better Huntsville & Athens (x2) showed UP… thank you for another incredible weekend of the AIO tour💙 it’s been hard to process that 5 years ago I was still a student at UGA having no idea that y’all’s support would one day lead to this… so grateful for every single one of u!!!!! God is good 🥹”.

Moroney is in the middle of her Am I Okay? run of shows, with the ‘Indifferent’ crooner continuing to cement herself as a future CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year winner.

Kenny Chesney and Megan Moroney spent much of 2024 out on the road together as part of Chesney's Sun Goes Down tour, with the duo performing the Beach Country legend's iconic ‘90s hit, ‘She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy’, on a number of occasions.

During their momentous closing triple-header at Foxborough's Gillette Stadium, Megan Moroney emerged driving a green tractor and donning Kenny Chesney's trademark tank-top, jeans and cowboy hat. The hilarious moment then became even sweeter, with Chesney then surprising Moroney by asking her to perform her current Country Radio single, ‘Am I Okay?’ in front of the packed-out crowd.

With Chesney gearing up to kick off his highly anticipated Las Vegas residency at the Sphere next month, we're holding out hope Moroney might be a special guest one night.

Kenny Chesney has been teasing that he has some unexpected duets up his sleeve for the groundbreaking run of shows, and given his close friendship with Megan Moroney, we're sure the Georgia prodigy must be at the top of his list of ideal duet partners. If we're ‘Lucky’, we might even get a full-blown collaboration soon.
