Zac Brown has taken to Instagram to share a flurry of new photos of his beautiful palomino, with the ‘I Ain't Worried About It’ singer-songwriter endearingly explaining why he decided to name the horse after his good friend, Cody Johnson.

Brown and CoJo joined forces in 2021 for the revamped version of ‘Wild Palomino’, one of the many stand-outs from Zac Brown Band's seventh studio album, The Comeback.

In his new post, Zac Brown has revealed how he was so moved by that collaboration with Cody Johnson, that he felt compelled to name his palomino after his duet partner.

“First time I heard the bones of ‘Wild Palomino’, I knew it had something special”, the Georgia native heartwarmingly reflects, “@codyjohnson and I connected over it and what started as a song turned into a brotherhood. And somewhere along the way, that bond showed up in the form of a real Palomino, named Cody of course”.

Brown fondly pays tribute to the similarities he sees in his horse and CoJo, “He’s got fire in his heart and peace in his eyes, just like the friend who brought him into my life”.

The ‘Chicken Fried’ crooner then concludes his homage by philosophically musing, “These kinds of full-circle moments don’t happen often, but when they do, you hold on tight”.

Brown and his band-mates are currently believed to be working on their eagerly anticipated follow-up to The Comeback (Deluxe), with the pioneering group sharing their brand new single, ‘I Ain't Worried About It’, towards the start of June.

It's a wonderfully carefree track that delighted those who fell in love with early ZBB odes such as ’Toes’ and ‘Knee Deep‘, with the group continuing in the same feel-good vein as their stellar 2024 Tie Up EP. After Brown's stunning tribute to Jimmy Buffett alongside Kenny Chesney, Mac McAnally and Alan Jackson at the 2023 CMA Awards, and the lasting impact Buffett has had on the ‘Colder Weather’ crooner, we're hoping we might have a full-blown island-inspired record en route.
