The Red Clay Strays have been awarded 2025 ACM New Duo or Group of the Year, with the Alabama band being surprised by the award while recording in Savannah, Georgia.
Excitingly, given the fact that the fast-emerging five-piece were presented with the accolade while spending time in the studio with their go-to producer, Dave Cobb, it looks like we might be getting some new music from The Red Clay Strays in the near future.
The Red Clay Strays overcame competition from fellow nominees, Treaty Oak Revival and Restless Road, to take home the coveted gong, which marks the band's first ACM Award.
This is the latest award to be unveiled ahead of the Frisco, Texas ceremony, which is due to take place on Thursday, May 8th, after Zach Top and Ella Langley were crowned New Male Artist of the Year and New Female Artist of the Year respectively.
With The Red Clay Strays cementing themselves as one of the most exciting new voices in the country music space over the past year or so, it's safe to say there are no complaints about the ‘Wanna Be Loved’ hitmakers triumphing in this prestigious category.
The group, comprising Brandon Coleman, Drew Nix, Zach Rishel, Andrew Bishop and John Hall, have sustained their momentum following their viral break-out hit, ‘Wondering Why’, with the band dropping their lauded sophomore album, Made by These Moments, in July 2024. We're keeping our fingers crossed it won't be long before we get to enjoy more music from the traditional-leaning outfit.
