Zach Bryan closed out a dazzling opening weekend of BST Hyde Park 2025 with a rip-roaring set, with the country megastar reeling off the hits in the warm glow of the evening sun.
Following a spectacular performance the previous evening, the expectations were through the roof as fans wondered how the ‘I Remember Everything’ hitmaker could top that set.
But they had no reason to worry, with Bryan returning to the stage with the same charisma and gravitas he laces into so many of his songs. His set flitted between an intimate, confessional therapy session and a rowdy, beer-soaked bar-room blowout.
One particularly endearing moment arose when Bryan spotted a fans’ sign in the crowd, asking if they could join the ‘Dawns’ singer-songwriter and sing ‘Tourniquet’ with him.
Zach Bryan was visibly touched, remarking, “No-one's ever asked to sing this song”. On Saturday night, Bryan invited up-and-coming artist, Ollie Hawkins, to sing ‘Heading South’ alongside him, with this usually serving as the song he duets with a fan.
It was therefore a welcome switch-up to hear him perform his 2023 gem, ‘Tourniquet’, as a duet. As she emerged, Bryan encouraged, “Everyone give it up for Mikaela”.
Mikaela did a stellar job, with the crowd, the backing band and Bryan himself clearly rooting her on as she harmonised with the ‘Something in the Orange’ singer-songwriter.
Elsewhere during his enchanting performance, Bryan mixed up his setlist by performing his much-loved single, ‘Starved’, along with his “favourite song of all time”, Warren Zevon's ’Lawyers, Guns and Money’. There were too many highlights to narrow down, but it's hard to look past his rousing rendition of ‘Burn, Burn, Burn’.
The fan-favourite anthem concluded with him and 65,000 attendees roaring jubilantly into the night sky, “Let me go / Down the line / I want to feel it all / Joy, pain and sky”.
Zach Bryan also treated the packed-out audience to a couple of spellbinding on-stage link-ups, with Noeline Hofmann teaming up with Bryan for a stunning take on their 2024 collaboration, ‘Purple Gas’, with Hofmann's captivating vocals floating enchantingly across the intricate strum of the guitar. In addition, Bryan's direct opener, Dermot Kennedy, again came out for a soulful version of ‘Hey Driver’.
Now, as the post-Zach Bryan blues begin to set in, fans are keenly awaiting the release of his new single, ‘Streets of London’, which he debuted during Night 1 at BST Hyde Park 2025. The track is set to arrive at some point today (Monday, June 30th).
