During one of his recent Outlaws Never Die Tour stop, Shaboozey has shared a heartfelt message to his fans about the importance of protecting and speaking up on behalf of women.
In-between songs at the show, the ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ hitmaker mused, “We gotta protect women. Cowboys, that's what we're here for, right? We gotta protect the cowgirls, alright?”
He went on, “You know if you see somebody in danger, if you see somebody that needs help, step in, say something. So that's what I want this to be about. Man, if you came here with somebody you love, cowgirl, cowboy, cow-whatever...cow, you know? Tell ‘em you love ‘em. Tell them you'd be there for them always”.
Shaboozey has been making a point of taking time out during his 2026 run to offer some words of wisdom, with a clip of the ‘Cowgirl’ singer-songwriter discussing the concept behind his new album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, going viral.
During that clip, Shaboozey explained that the overall arc of the record was about choosing vengeance at first, before finding comfort and forgiveness through God and Jesus.
In this new video, although not explicitly stated, many fans have interpreted Shaboozey's speech to be a reference to The Cornell 7 news-story. Seven former members of the Chi Phi fraternity are accused of sexually assaulting a female student.
This has led to many other women coming out and sharing their own experiences of sexual assault, and their frustration at how many men choose to stay silent, rather than standing up and being an ally. Shaboozey's words in this speech - whether intended to be related to The Cornell 7 news-story or not - have been taken by numerous fans in the comments to be a rallying plea for men to do more to help make women feel safe, and to decry sexual assault more vociferously.
Shaboozey's music has always had an undercurrent of faith and encouragement, and this latest on-stage moment serves as another reminder of how the genre-blurring artist is using his platform as a means of spreading positivity and hope.
