With Morgan Wallen having concluded his 2026 Still The Problem Tour this summer, his fans are currently in limbo as they await news of his next album and his 2027 tour plans.
Rumours continue to fly about what he might have in store for us next, with Wallen confirming during the last few shows that he sees this tour as the end of his I'm the Problem chapter. After the release of ‘Been By Now’, in July, as the first solo song from his next era, Wallen revealed he's building his new project around this track.
Wallen has a track record of releasing albums every other year, and with I'm the Problem dropping in 2025, this means we're seemingly due another collection of songs in 2027.
And if his past album cycles are anything to go by, the Sneedville megastar tends to accompany announcements of his new projects with sprawling, stadium-filling tours.
We're feeling pretty confident that we'll be getting plenty of new music from Wallen in 2027, with the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker confirming he's been in the studio recently. With no shows on the books for the rest of the year, we suspect he's using this time to finalise this batch of songs and figure out what his new era looks like.
Which means that, if we had to put an estimated timeline on it, we'd expect to start getting some unreleased song teasers in the coming weeks and months, before some official singles at the top of 2027. If there's an album arriving soon after this, that would mean it's perfect timing for one of Wallen's classic Summer and Fall tours.
With the ‘Love Somebody’ singer-songwriter packing out some of the biggest venues in North America this year, it's hard to think of how he can top this in 2027. Our suspicion is that he'll stick to similar venues in the US and Canada, but we think he'll broaden his horizons by treating us to those long-awaited international dates.
Around the release of I'm the Problem in May 2025, Wallen's UK and Australia mailing list subscribers received notifications that they'd be able to get Pre-Sale access for yet-to-be-announced 2026 shows. These, of course, didn't end up materialising.
Wallen has worked hard to build a strong relationship with his fans overseas, so we'd be very surprised if he doesn't come back in 2027. What's more, Wallen's probation for his chair-throwing incident officially ends in December 2026, meaning he's theoretically free to travel without any need to get permission from his parole officer.
Based on past tours and the general US touring format, we'd assume Wallen would tour North America during the Summer, and then head to Australia, the UK and Europe in the Fall.
The last time he launched a full-scale tour across the UK and Europe, he was headlining arenas. This time around, given how he'll have seen his buddy Luke Combs selling out iconic venues like Wembley Stadium, Slane Castle and Murrayfield and Ullevi, we reckon Wallen will surely be eyeing up his first international stadium run. He headlined BST Hyde Park back in 2024, with around 50,000 fans pouring into the London show, and Wallen's star-power has only grown since then.
As for the potential opener roster, we imagine Wallen will want to keep things close to home, as usual, bringing his buddies, label-mates and Sticks Management signees.
With this in mind, we envision artists like HARDY, ERNEST, Zach John King, Gavin Adcock joining him. If it's Wembley, perhaps he brings another bigger name over, like Combs did with Thomas Rhett, with artists like Eric Church, Ella Langley, Riley Green and Miranda Lambert all feeling like viable candidates - although you can't help but feel Langley is big enough for her own overseas headlining arena run.
There's also the possibility, of course, that Wallen takes a year off from touring altogether. We think this is unlikely, though, especially given how his 2026 Still the Problem Tour was a much more scaled-back run in terms of the number of dates, compared to his usual summer tours, as well as the fact that he didn't go overseas this year.
Either way, we're keeping our fingers crossed that Wallen and his camp will be unveiling his 2027 tour plans soon. His past three tour announcements have all dropped in the Winter, between September and January, so we suspect we'll have more news soon...
