“This Isn’t Goodbye. It’s A Thank You”: Zac Brown Band Spark Speculation With Cryptic Countdown

Zac Brown Band are up to something, and we’ve got less than six days to figure it out.

Since last night (July 8), the group have deleted all of their Instagram posts – don’t worry, their TikTok is still in full swing – leaving one emotionally charged reel with a cryptic, albeit encouraging, message.

"There’s no way to sum up what the last chapter has meant to us…

We’ve played thousands of shows, crossed countless state lines, and seen every kind of weather and welcome you could imagine.

Whether you saw us when we were playing covers in Georgia dive bars or you just found us on your drive home last month… You’ve been a part of this journey. You’ve sung the words, screamed the choruses, cried with us, danced with us, and let this music into your life. That kind of connection is not lost on us. It never will be.

From every hand we shook, every sign we saw in the crowd, every voice lifted back to us from the front row to the lawn, we felt your love. And we gave it right back, night after night.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s a thank you. A reflection.

The next chapter? It’s the biggest one yet.

Initially, it certainly sounded like a goodbye, despite their statement stating otherwise. It felt especially concerning when coupled with the cinematic montage that the caption accompanied. But, further reading has lead us to the conclusion that actually, something pretty big is coming.

Even further journalistic digging (clicking a link or two) has revealed a countdown timer on their website, one that is counting down to Tuesday, July 15 .

So, what are they up to? Is it an album? Their last body of work was the ‘No Wake Zone’ EP from 2024 and, before that, the deluxe edition of their album The Comeback (Deluxe) in 2022. Can one have two comeback albums? We've not had a new studio record for four years - it could certainly be time for some more new music from the group, particularly since they released a new single, 'I Ain't Worried About It', on June 6th.

Or, are they hitting the road again? Their only upcoming tour dates on their website are in Australia across October, so maybe there’s another World Tour on the horizon? Some fans in the comments are even speculating a residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas.

The only clue we have right now is an image of a burning door next to the countdown. It’s very Zac Brown Band coded, but what does it mean?

For a band as highly regarded and firmly established Zac Brown Band – you know, just a few GRAMMYs, Billboard No.1s and Country Radio No.1s – it makes us wonder what they’ve possibly got left to pull out of their sleeve, never mind something that has been fronted by this much of a show.

One thing is for sure –we’re keeping our eyes peeled for any other clues and setting our alarms because we are not missing this big reveal.
