During his spectacular opening show at the expansive Phoenix Park in Dublin, Ireland, Zach Bryan treated the packed-out audience to a brand new track, titled ‘Plastic Cigarettes’.
It's one the ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker has been teasing across socials, with Bryan introducing the new offering with a self-deprecating, tongue-in-cheek explanation, “Not to bore you guys, I wrote this new song, it might suck”, before joking to his adoring fans, “If it does, just boo us off-stage. It's called ‘Plastic Cigarettes’”.
Of course, this is a Zach Bryan song we're talking about, so naturally it didn't suck, with fans greeting his decision to debut a brand new song with a chorus of screams and cheers.
‘Plastic Cigarettes’ is predicted to feature on either Zach Bryan's new album, Motorbreath, or his With Heaven On Top EP, with both hopefully dropping in the coming weeks.
Bryan first started teasing ‘Plastic Cigarettes’ around three months ago, with fans assuming that, due to the reference to the Australian beachside town of Byron Bay, it's about his rumoured new girlfriend, Hannah Duncan, who hails from Down Under.
It was one of the many highlights in a hit-filled set, with also rattling through fan-favourites such as ‘Open the Gate’, ‘Heavey Eyes’, ‘Dawns’, ‘I Remember Everything’ and more.
As was expected, Bryan also invited one of his openers, Noeline Hofmann, on-stage to perform their undulating duet, ‘Purple Gas’. The Oklahoma native returns to Phoenix Park this evening, with the anticipation through the roof after this stellar first night.
