Merlefest 2022: Line-Up, Dates and Tickets

The 2022 Merlefest line-up consists of more than 100 artists performing across 13 stages.

Including Emmylou Harris, Allison Russell, Old Crow Medicine Show, Josh Turner, Natalie Hemby, Tenille Townes, The Wood Brothers, Greensky Bluegrass, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Trampled By Turtles, Rissi Palmer, Sam Bush Band, Scythian, The Waybacks, Jim Lauderdale, Donna the Buffalo and so many more.

Merlefest is an annual four-day traditional and contemporary roots music festival featuring bluegrass, folk and Appalachian roots music from across the country.

Scheduled for April 28th to May 1st, Merlefest takes place on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

It’s a line-up that just gets stronger and stronger as the weekend goes on.

Thursday April 28th – the line-up includes Josh Turner, Tenille Townes, Durand Jones & The Indications, Trampled By Turtles, The Steel Wheels, Donna The Buffalo and Fireside Collective and more

Friday April 29th – the line-up includes Natalie Hemby, Rissi Palmer, Alison Brown, Jim Lauderdale, Greensky Bluegrass and more

Saturday April 30th - the line-up includes Old Crow Medicine Show, Jerry Douglas, Colin Hay, Sam Bush Band, Allison Russell, Arlo McKinley, The Nude Party, Caleb Caudle and more

Sunday May 1st - the line-up includes Emmylou Harris, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, 49 Winchester, Shannon McNally and more

Originally hosted by folk music legend and Grammy Award-winner Doc Watson until his passing in 2012, Merlefest was named after Doc's late son, Eddie Merle Watson, who died in a tragic tractor accident.

This will be the first Merlefest since Doc Watson's death.

Children 12 years old and younger are admitted free to general admission seating areas when they enter with a properly credentialed adult; however, tickets are required for all seats in the reserved seating area and for the Late Night Jam.

They suggest planning for hot weather during the day and cool weather at night, but it may rain so don’t forget your poncho.

Oh, and don’t forget to look out for Flattop The Raccoon!!
