Old Dominion Have Won The ACM Award for Group of the Year.

The band are nominated for two awards at this years ceremony and have retained their Group of the Year title after being nominated for the sixth time in this category.

The likes of Lady A, The Highwomen, The Cadillac Three and Little Big Town were all pipped to the post by the five-piece from Nashville.

In an interview backstage after their win, the group's frontman Matthew Ramsey said "this feels four times as good".

Previous winners include the likes of Alabama, The Mavericks and The Chicks. In recent years the award has been passed around from Lady A, Little Big Town and Old Dominion - with The Cadillac Three receiving their first nomination this year, The Highwomen received their first nod in this category last year.

The award show kicked off with Miranda Lambert and Elle King, performing 'Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)', before joining Jon Randall and Jack Ingram to perform 'In His Arms'.

She also duetted with Chris Stapleton on his track 'Maggie's Song' later on in the show.
