Grace Potter, Little Feat, Lettuce, Moon Taxi and Mike & The Moonpies all head out to Martinsville, VA, for the 12th Rooster Walk festival in May.

They’ll be joined by The War and Treaty, Sammy Rae & The Friends, Mountain Heart, The Nude Party, The Wooks, Fireside Collective, Sol Driven Train, Crawford & Power, Daniel Donato and loads more acts.

Plus, the Artists-at-Large this year will be John Bryant, Roosevelt Collier, Ron Holloway, Josh Shilling and Wallace Mullinax.

The family-friendly festival will take place from Thursday 26th May to Sunday 29th May at Pop's Farm, located in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival was created in memory of two childhood friends who passed away while still in their 20s: Edwin “the Rooster” Penn and Walker Shank.

This festival celebrates life and the notion that you shouldn’t waste a moment of it.

When Edwin died in a dirt-bike accident in November 2007, and Walker passed from heart trouble while asleep in his apartment in December 2008, close friends decided a music festival was a fitting way to tribute.

Rooster Walk was created, with the idea that proceeds from the festival go toward a college scholarship fund at their alma mater, Martinsville High School.

Festival gates open at 9am every day, except on Thursday when they open at noon. Flashlight, sunscreen, bug and tick spray, poison ivy protectant and phone chargers all recommended.
