BeachLife Ranch, the country-leaning spin-off from Los Angeles' hugely popular BeachLife Music Festival, is returning with a packed roster of top-tier performers. 

The likes of Jack Johnson, Cody Jinks, Midland and Brad Paisley have all been confirmed for the hotly anticipated California event, which is due to take place across September 22-24. 

Joining them will be Wynonna Judd, The Avett Brothers, Pillbox Patti, Amanda Shires, Chris Isaak, Parmalee, Shooter Jennings, Blackberry Smoke, Abby Anderson and more. 

Here, we'll have all the up-to-date news on line-up announcements, along with all the latest ticket and festival pass details for 2023.

The three-day extravaganza will enable country and Americana fans to extend their summer festival season, with Los Angeles still being bathed in balmy sunshine long into September. 

It'll mark the second BeachLife Ranch, with the inaugural instalment proving to be a great success in 2022. Last year's event featured unforgettable performances from Brandi Carlile, Dierks Bentley, Ashley McBryde, The Lumineers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Wilco, Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real and more. 

With another heavy-hitting roster of performers lined up for September 2023, it seems the upcoming BeachLife Ranch festival is shaping up to be even bigger than the first.

There’s a clear, driven mission to broaden the scope of mainstream country music, while simultaneously tipping their vogue cowboy hats to a bygone era of the genre. Paradoxically, part of the unique charm of the Midland trio is that there often seems to be a distinct 

 of any mission or ulterior motives. It’s just three cowboys in Austin, Texas jamming out and having a blast together.

, covered a vast amount of sonic territory, but loosely hugged a path between easy-rock and neo-traditional country. The projects spawned a plethora of hits, including the triple-platinum break-out single, ‘Drinkin’ Problem’, a swaggering take on the tear-in-my-beer trope that goes down smoother than a shot of Tennessee Honey.

 in 2021 felt to many like Midland’s first steps outside the stylistic white lines they’d kept to on their previous albums. Along with 

 was a collection of early, demo-esque tracks that captured the playful magic of Midland’s inception.

, which arrived in May 2022, following a 2021 EP of the same name. It’s a concept album that provides an audial, escapist retreat into a tainted, heartbroken world of Floridian motels, funfairs and beachside road-trips. Throughout the project, their light-hearted personas shine through without ever eclipsing the poignance of the mood.

solidified Midland’s status as one of the most versatile, polished and listenable country bands of the modern era.

The ‘outlaw’ label seems to be bandied around quite casually these days, to the extent that the category has somewhat lost its meaning. Yet Cody Jinks’ stormy, charismatic brand of country music could well be the sound that brings the real outlaws back to Music City.

From the late 90s to 2003, Jinks was the lead singer of Unchecked Aggression, an ambitious thrash-metal band. However, having been raised in Haltom City, Texas, it wasn’t too long before Jinks returned to the country music that had surrounded him as a child.

Jinks’ discography is lengthy and diverse in equal measure, but at the heart of each LP is a celebration of all the outcasts and desperados looking for a place to call home. It’s an attitude embodied by his fanbase, who call themselves the ‘Black Sheep’.

 felt like the key marker-post that signified Cody Jinks’ return to country music. His laid-back, guttural vocals often veer into Kristofferson-esque territory, while his odes to the “hippies and cowboys” of the world set the tone for his subsequent projects. 

 found Jinks finally knocking down the industry door that had kept him outside of the mainstream for so long, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart.

In October 2019, Jinks stayed true to his persona as an individual in an egalitarian society by releasing two albums in the space of just a week. Jinks’ 2021 album, 

, carried the weight of his previous records, but with a welcome injection of lyrical playfulness.

Having embraced his Nashvillian rejection and incorporated it into his outlaw image, Jinks proudly calls himself ‘The Biggest Independent Country Artist on the Planet’. His claim to be such was bolstered when he won Music Row’s 2021 CountryBreakout Award for Independent Artist of the Year.

The musical partnership between Scott and Seth Avett started long before their 2002 debut album Country Was. The brothers grew up playing music with their family, including a more professional attempt when Seth joined Scott and their sister Margo’s college band Nemo. 

But ultimately it was Scott and Seth’s roots-infused harmonies and their genre-blending sound that has stood the test of time. They just needed one more musician to round them out. The pair met upright bassist Bob Crawford around 2001 and began performing together. From there, the Avett Brothers was set. 

Combining numerous roots genres, including bluegrass, folk, and even honkytonk, their music showcases an earnest and intimate lyricism, which has earned them Americana Music Awards for Duo/Group of the Year and Grammy nominations along the way.

Since their debut, the Avett Brothers have continued to release a steady churn of beloved and best-selling albums, including 2007’s Emotionalism, 2009’s I and Love and You and 2012’s The Carpenter — the latter two of which were produced by Rick Rubin. 

In 2017, they released a documentary titled May It Last: Portrait of the Avett Brothers, which took viewers behind the scenes of their 2016 album True Sadness.

Maxim is a Country Music Journalist and Holler’s News Editor based in London, UK.

e’s written for publications such as Country Music People and has served as Music Editor of the Cherwell Newspaper and Phaser Magazine, during which time he set up Phaser’s first podcast series. 

Over the past few years, Maxim has interviewed some of his favourite artists, including Kelsea Ballerini, HARDY, Riley Green, Bailey Zimmerman, Midland, Ernest, Molly Tuttle and more. 

Since joining Holler towards the end of 2022, he has expanded the news output and introduced new article formats such as Lyrics & Meaning pieces, Exclusive Q&As and Album Hub Pages. 

Maxim enjoys staying on the pulse of the latest releases, and is a country aficionado and avid listener of anything by Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, George Strait, Florida Georgia Line, Niko Moon, Megan Moroney and Zach Bryan, as well as keenly covering Post Malone’s transition into country music. 

Above all, Maxim considers himself Kenny Chesney’s No. 1 fan.
