Hope in the Hills’ Healing Appalachia is making a move for 2025, leaving its familiar home of Lewisburg, West Virginia, to its new site near the Boyd County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Kentucky.

Bringing another folk-filled weekend committed to healing to the mountains of Kentucky, the sixth annual Healing Appalachia will take place on Sept. 19 and 20, with a Thursday night kick-off party on Sept. 18.

The 2025 edition of the largest recovery-based music festival will see two Kentucky natives sharing the headlining duties as Tyler Childers and Chris Stapleton each take a night of the revered event.

“Moving the festival to Eastern Kentucky and to the heart of The Country Music Highway, we could not be more excited or humbled to have two of the Commonwealth's greatest songwriters and voices for their people - Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers,” shared Dave Lavender, board president for Hope in the Hills. “Not only have they both urgently and boldly shared their journeys and songs of home with the world, but both are first in line to roll up their sleeves and help folks in need. We can't wait to leave the porch light on for them here in the hills of home at Healing Appalachia."

Here, we'll have all the up-to-date news on line-up announcements, the latest ticket and festival pass details, alongside any other info and details for the 2025 event.

Held during National Recovery Month, Healing Appalachia will honor the more than 87,000 people in the US who died of overdose in 2024 and celebrate the nearly 21 million people recovering from alcohol and/or substance use disorder.

Since the inaugural Healing Appalachia in 2018, the event has grown from 1,500 fans at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds to 20,000 music lovers from 42 states and three countries. Over the years, the stages have been graced by Gov’t Mule, My Morning Jacket, Shooter Jennings, Sierra Ferrell, Lost Dog Street Band, 49 Winchester, Charles Wesley Godwin, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Margo Price, Sierra Hull and more.
