49 Winchester has signed to MCA's Lucille Records, with the alt-country six-piece confirming they'll be dropping a brand new single, ‘Changes’, on Friday (November 7th).
The track serves as an homage to Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath's song of the same name, with the band showcasing their ability to blur the lines between a slew of closely related yet distinct genres, while still staying true to their Appalachian roots.
The band are currently in the studio with Dave Cobb working on their eagerly anticipated follow-up album to 2024's Leavin’ This Holler, which is expected to drop in 2026.
The band's lead vocalist and guitarist, Isaac Gibson, underlines his excitement, “We’re thrilled to be joining the MCA and Lucille family. Working with Dave Cobb is a dream, and we can’t wait for our fans to hear the new music we’re creating together”.
Bassist Chase Chafin, adds, “So grateful to the fans and team who helped us build this to where it is today. We couldn’t be more excited for MCA to be the home of future 49 Winchester releases, and to share this next chapter with those who made it possible”.
Mike Harris, President & CEO of MCA, echoes their sentiments, “We are so excited to have 49 Winchester join Lucille Records. Their mix of Southern rock is powerful and authentic, and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to evolve”.
Cobb, who is both the band's producer and Chief Creative Officer of MCA, underlines, “In working with 49 Winchester it felt like they laid it all out on the line. The record is pure heart and honesty, a lotta heart, soul and love went into making this album”.
John Allen, President of New West Records, reflects on the new partnership with MCA, and toasts 49's journey so far, “Watching 49 Winchester’s remarkable growth and success over the past several years has been incredibly rewarding. Their achievements reflect the band’s extraordinary talent and relentless work ethic, as well as the dedication of everyone at New West. Partnering once again with my longtime friend Dave Cobb is always a pleasure, and MCA is the perfect home for 49 Winchester as we work together to reach even greater heights”.
Given how refreshingly varied and intricate 49 Winchester's previous studio effort was, we can't wait to hear what they've been cooking up alongside Cobb in the coming months.
