Ella Langley is opening up about her unique connection with her loyal fans, with the ‘Choosin’ Texas’ singer-songwriter sharing what she hopes listeners draw from her music.
While chatting to SiriusXM, the Alabama native begins by discussing her recent Dandelion Tour, which came to a close last weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota, “I think the coolest thing now is definitely the shows, you know, like, especially with my band. I've played with them for so long, and a lot of my crew has been with me for a long time”.
Langley goes on to share how she tries to hold onto that core passion for songwriting and recording, as her fans can detect when a track has genuinely been made with love.
Langley candidly muses, “Well, if you focus on the accolades and like the big things you're always reaching for, I think that does add pressure. But I think what drew people into the music - or what I would hope is - kind of just like, they can feel that hunger I have for loving music and wanting to write songs. And I think sometimes, like, looking around too much can definitely take away some of that creativity”.
The ‘Be Her’ singer-songwriter stresses that, despite reaching a new chart milestone and being up for another award on a seemingly weekly basis, she tries to stay grounded.
Langley outlines, “So I really try to stay in my artistry and kind of keep my head down and just focus on like, alright, how do we make the show bigger? How do we make the show better?”
Excitingly, Langley hints that her attention has already turned to her Dandelion follow-up album, “This next record, how do I...write different songs and push myself a little further?”
We'll always welcome more music from the country titan, with Dandelion undoubtedly in the Album of the Year conversation after spawning stellar hits like ‘Choosin’ Texas‘, ‘Be Her’ and ‘Butterfly Season’ with Miranda Lambert. And if Langley doesn't get lost in the dizzying new heights and the dazzling glare of the spotlight, as she reflects here, then she'll be bringing that same creative spark and songwriting passion that lit up Dandelion into her next project. We can't wait.
