Sometimes the biggest dreams are built on the sacrifices we never even see. Ahead of Mother's Day next Sunday 11th May, Onoleigh honours the quiet strength of her mother, celebrating all the different ways she supported the singer's dreams throughout her life in her new single, 'Legacy,'

"She’s got a heartache where her dreams had been, gave it all up for a couple kids
Didn’t have much but enough to give
She’s everything I wanna be

She had pain
She covered up
But she's always shown her love Carried me this far
And when she’s gone
I’ll carry on her legacy"

A deeply heartfelt, poignant country power ballad, the song is accompanied by a unbeievably moving new video, as Onoleigh takes us back through the years with a scrapbook of home movie memories.

"'Legacy' is my thank-you to my mom, but it’s also for anyone who's ever had someone believe in them when they didn’t have much to give, except their whole heart," she told us. "Making this video brought me right back to all those moments of being a little girl, looking up to her, not even realizing yet how much she was giving up to make my dreams possible. I hope when people watch it, they think about the person in their own life who carried them when they couldn’t walk on their own yet. That’s what a legacy really is to me."

"When we set out to create the video for 'Legacy,' I knew I didn’t want it to be overly produced or complicated," Onoleigh told us. "This song is about the kind of love and sacrifice that happens quietly, behind the scenes, every single day - the kind you only fully understand as you grow older. I wanted the video to reflect that simplicity and that depth. It's raw, it’s honest, and it feels deeply personal to me."

"We actually filmed the video in my grandparents' house in Illinois, which made it even more meaningful," Onoleigh says about the video, directed by Brecken Hobbs with Cusick Media. "That house holds so many memories of the people and values that shaped me. It felt like the most honest backdrop we could have chosen. Nothing polished or staged, just my real life."
